Hot/Cold Stone Massage

Also known as "Thermotherapy", this massage technique is one of several practised by traditional Hawaiian healers.

It involves using heated volcanic basalt stones (and sometimes cooling stones such as marble), placed in a variety of positions.

As the warmth from the stones penetrates the body, circulation is increased, muscular tension eased and a sense of well-being is achieved.

This leaves you feeling comforted, soothed and grounded. The warm stones are used as massage tools with carrier oils and essential oils. 

As a result of the thermal conduction effect, the stones create local and systemic changes in the body, relaxing connective tissues and increasing metabolism.
